Hi, I’m Kelsey. Thanks for visiting Wilderness Threads. I created this site as a place to share my style, gear closet and outdoor pursuits in hopes of helping other women evoke confidence when pursuing their outdoor passions.
I’m a Florida native that moved west 8 years ago on a whim to work at summer camp in Northern New Mexico. After I discovered mountains, I never moved back. Fast forward to today, I live in Boulder, Colorado with my husband and pup. I’m an avid skier, hiker, biker – expert weekend warrior. I’m a master of none but prefer spending my free time outside trying.
I always admired fashion growing up and to this day, which led me to graduate with a degree in Merchandising and Product Development from Florida State University. After working in local gear shops through college, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in the outdoor industry. I’ve spent the last several years working for outdoor brands in roles from customer service to marketing.
For years, I compromised my personal style for function when headed outside. With outdoor brands just now creating products catered to women, I’ve made it a mission to find technical, adventure ready outdoor apparel and gear that lets me express my personal style outdoors. You might also find me writing about a few of my favorite things like sewing, home projects, fitness classes and plants – especially plants.
